I didn't plan to open a new card today...

You might have seen on stories last night on Instagram, but while folding a mound of laundry in my (still) half carpeted/half concrete bedroom, I realized that we still haven't paid for our 2nd round of our flood renovation. I mean, it makes sense, since they aren't done. 😖

We've paid $17k already (UGH. So extremely grateful for insurance) and have about $17k to go.

My husband opened up a card for the original $17k downpayment, so it was my turn.

🏨🏨I also considered opening this personal hotel card that just became elevated this week🏨! These are extra valuable hotel cards because they include a free night certificate that can be used at ultimately any property.

I honestly still may choose to open another one (or have Devin do it).

Well on a whim, I just decided to apply for a Chase Ink card (they are elevated for 2 more days!!). I didn't think I'd be approved. I currently hold 2. Since I already had a card, I applied using my EIN + LLC. If you DO NOT hold an Ink card, you can apply as a sole proprietor using your Name as the name of your business + your SSN. If you do already hold one, I'd recommend applying with an EIN + LLC combo. :)

Truly, this amount of spending is BONKERS and I'm just grateful that we'll probably get two steeply discounted trips as "payment" in points for all of the hassle - just by being smart and opening a card (or two) before paying off our contractor tab.
